Since his debut season for Bayern and Germany, Muller has quickly developed into one of the best players in the world. He is not the most conventional football, but he always manages to get goals and assists and somewhat occupies positions that defenders vacate. He is one of the best players in the World at the moment and an integral part of the German team. He is also the leader in attack. Muller’s position is very vague to point out was called Raumdueter by his former manager Loius Van Gaal because of his ability to recognise space and create space for his teammates. His biggest strength is his intelligence. Muller compliments his lack of speed or flair with intelligence, he can see moves that many players can’t and makes the attack tick. Muller is also an industrious player with the work rate to press and support his team in defence. He was crucial to Hansi Flick’s success at Bayern and returned to the national team for the European Championships last summer.

Muller hasn’t had the best start to the season injuries have ensured he’s only played four times since the last international break. In the Bundesliga, he has two goals and three assists in seven starts, averaging 74 minutes per game. He has created six big chances and averages two key passes per game. Despite his injuries, he will be at full fitness at the World Cup for Germany/

World Cup Record

Muller took the world by storm in the 2010 World cup after topping the scoring charts with five goals while also setting up three assists. In 2014, he scored five times again and assisted thrice. He blanked in 2018 but is still on course to break the record for most goals at the World Cup set by Miroslav Klose in 2014.
