An FIR is filed against former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli for allegedly assaulting his wife in an intoxicated state.

The incident took place on Friday and no arrest has been made so far.

In a police complaint Andre, Kambli's wife said that he threw the handle of a cooking pan at her due to which she suffered a head injury.

FIR was filed based on her complaint at the Bandra police station on Friday under Indian Penal Code Sections 324 and 504.

Kambli's wife went to Bhabha hospital for a medical examination.

According to the reports, Kambli's 12-year-old son tried to intervene in the fight but couldn't stop his father from assaulting his mother.
