Chairman of Goa Rehabilitation Board and Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai said that the foundation stone for the railway overbridge at Dauji, Old Goa will be laid on September 18.
He was speaking after inaugurating the extension of the streetlight line at Gudeshwar Temple to Panch Manas in Carambolim on Wednesday.
Also present were Carambolim Sarpanch Kusta Salelkar, Panch Angela Valadaras and others.
“We had built a platform last year. Now we have undertaken beautification of this area with 20 new streetlights. I congratulate Salelkar, Valadaras and their entire team for undertaking this work as this will benefit the villagers. People used to face trouble during Ganesh Visarjan, and hence we had taken up the work last year. We will also pursue the matter of building a retaining wall and building a proper road at this location within the next 3 months so that this will benefit locals for the next 25 years,” he said.
Faldessai said the final order for the Dauji overbridge has been released.
“We are laying the foundation stone for the box-type railway overbridge at Dauji, Old Goa on September 18. The project will be built at a cost of Rs 53 crores. This project will be completed in four months. It will provide a lot of relief for commuters who used to get stuck at this spot,” he said.
“Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is assisting us in all our projects. We are taking up all pending works, including the Carambolim lake project,” he added.
Also present were Deputy Sarpanch Reshma Mulgaokar and Panch member Bhuvneshwar Fatarpekar.
