Friday the 13th superstitions
One explanation for the negativity around Friday the 13th is the great betrayal when the Pope and the King of France betrayed the Knights Templar on Friday October 13th, 1307. Both the Papacy and France owed the Knights Templar very large sums of money. They conspired to accuse the Knights Templar of serving false gods and heresy against the Catholic Church.

As of now the false accusations against the Knights Templar has been rescinded and the Papacy has absolved them of the crimes the Papacy originally accused them of.

This is not the only idea as to why Friday the 13th is so negative but it is a leading idea.
The primary parties were Pope Clement V and King Philip. There is the idea that King Philip pressured Pope Clement V into participating in his evil scheme to clear his monetary debt.
Thus Friday the 13, especially any Friday the 13th in October will always have the shadow of the Great Betrayal.
