From protecting people's health to securing the future: Meet yogacharya and top insurance agent Dharminder Abrol
By Saurabh Duggal
Stammering, nasal congestion, and other health issues led Dharmendar Abrol to discover yoga at the age of 15. By 17, he had become a yoga teacher, and now, over four decades later, Abrol continues to advocate for better health through yoga.
While yoga is a passionate hobby for Abrol, his profession is as Chandigarh region's highest tax-payer insurance agent. His professional journey began with the family business of selling auto parts, but a division in the family business compelled him to pursue a career as an insurance agent.
He has been in the life insurance industry since 1990 and has been recognised as the top insurance agent for the LIC in the Chandigarh region for some time. He manages a team of about 15 staffers and serves a client base of over 15,000 individuals, including many prominent names in the region.
"Yoga is a passion for me, and I teach it for free. I am involved in the life insurance sector for a living," says Dharminder Abrol, who is also joined in the insurance business by his wife, Monica and son, Vishnu.
Abrol entered the life insurance policy business with a vision to secure the lives of himself and those who rely on him.
Over time, his client base grew, and today, he even serves three generations of some families on his client list.
"Our motto is that we are with our clients during their lifetime and continue serving their families even after their demise through life insurance policies," says Abrol, whose family has won Panchkula's best terrace garden award for the last three years.
In the mornings, Abrol teaches yoga at Divya Yog Mandir, Sector 7, Panchkula, and has helped many people manage lifestyle diseases.
"Insurance policies provide support for your post-retirement life and a safety net for your family in case of unforeseen events. Yoga helps you live a healthy life. We encourage people to obtain life insurance plans as early as possible and to incorporate yoga as an integral part of their lives," says Abrol.
