Last Night one of the most prestigious award function held at Mumbai called the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival.
Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) was founded in 2012 and established in 2016 to carry forward the legacy of Late Shri Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, lovingly known as Dadasaheb Phalke – The Father of Indian Cinema. It is India’s only independent international film festival, with a mission to celebrate the work of aspiring, young, independent & professional filmmakers.
The award aim is to honor the lifetime effort of Shri Dadasaheb Phalke ji and so, the festival celebrates the brilliance of the Indian film industry by making an effort to acknowledge and aid nascent projects by bringing them to mainstream audiences.
Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023 was equally star studded like every year.
Inspite of multiple controversies Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' won the 'Best Film' Award.
Alia Bhatt lifted the trophy for 'Best Actress' for portraying the iconic character Gangubai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.
Surpsingly her husband, Ranbir Kapoor won the 'Best Actor' award for his performance in 'Brahmastra'.
Veteran actor Rekha was honored for her 'Outstanding Contribution To The Film Industry'.
And the Oscar nominee, and SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' got the 'Film of the Year.'
Varun Dhawan got the 'Best Actor critics for his movie 'Bhediya,' and Vidya Balan for 'Best Actor critics' for 'Jasla.'
R Balki for his movie 'Chup: Revenge of the Artist' bagged the 'Best Director' award.
