Gareth Bale to come out of retirement to play for Wrexham?
Gareth Bale called time on a legendary career a few months ago. The southpaw is the greatest ever to turn out for Wales.
Wrexham are one of the few Welsh clubs that play in the English football pyramid. The third oldest football club in the world, for years Wrexham were in the National League which is the 5th tier of football in England, outside the professional leagues. But lady luck smiled on them a couple of years ago. Hollywood superstars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds decided to take over a club, that had for years been under poor ownership. With their genuine investment and support, the club have won the National League and have been promoted. Their stardom can now be benefited from. An example of this is currently going on in Twitter. McElhenney, of It's Sunny in Philadelphia fame, approached Bale on Twitter. "Let’s play golf, where I totally won’t spend 4 hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season," he said. Bale then replied that it depended on the course to which Reynolds hilariously suggested that he would shave a professional-grade golf course into Rob’s back if Bale were to give Wrexham a season. It didn't end there though, with the two actors proceeding to post a fan made artwork of Bale in a Wrexham jersey with the caption "What if?"
While it is still quite improbable that this does happen, it wouldn't be the first time as former Manchester United and Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster came out of retirement earlier this season to help Wrexham win their league.
