The T20 World Cup is over and so is Rahul Dravid's tenure as India's head coach, the BCCI shall soon announce India’s new head coach and several media reports have claimed that Gautam Gambhir will be the next man in charge.

Although the former cricketer remained tight-lipped about the same. Before the Indian cricket board made the official announcement, Gambhir reportedly attended his farewell from the Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata on Friday.

Gambhir was interviewed recently by the CAC and now it is just a matter of time that the announcement happens.

As per a report in the Indian Express, Gambhir and BCCI are having salary negotiations and that is the cause of the delay. The new coach would join the Indian cricket team from the Sri Lanka series.

Gambir has an emotional bond with KKR, and bidding the team goodbye surely won't be easy for him. He visited the Eden Garden on Friday to shoot a video bidding goodbye to the franchise and the fans, reported TimesNow. It has been learned that the video will showcase Gambhir’s journey with KKR. The report further quoted an official from the Cricket Association of Bengal, confirming the former India opener’s presence at the Eden Gardens on July 5.
