German Karl La Gerfeld
German Karl La Gerfeld is the most famous fashion designer in the world and worked for the French House of Chanel. When he died in 2019, he wrote most of his $198 million fortune to his cat, Choupette, in a will he wrote before his death, while depriving all his human relatives of inheritance, including his cousin and his aunt’s niece. It is believed that Garfield was married to the cat before his death and loved her very much. He hired a team of servants and a private veterinarian to serve her, in addition to guards and her own business manager! The cat is currently the second richest animal in the world after the dog, Gunther IV, who inherited $400 million after the death of the Austrian Countess Carlotta Liebenstein in 1992.
