Good Will Hunting, written by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Ben Affleck became the youngest to win the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Matt Damon stars as the main lead, Will and Ben Affleck stars as his best friend, Chuckie. The conflict in the movie is about hope, goodwill, loneliness and love.
Will is a hidden genius and he works as a janitor at MIT. He sloves a problem that Prof. Lambeau poses at MIT, doing it anonymously. Everyone is suprised at who sloved it, the next day Lambeau poses another problem and Lambeau catches Will writing the answer. Will falls in love with Skylar at a bar
Will and his friends get into a fight and upon being arrested, Will assaults a police officer. Will defends himself in a public hearing and Lambeau comes to his rescue on the condition that Will has to take therapy and study under the professor. Will ridicules all his therapists and Lambeau goes to Sean (Robin Williams). He was his roomate and teaches psychology at a college but was a genius and had to look after his ill wife hence not becoming a therapist.
Will starts to open up to Sean about his life and Will's relationship with Skylar starts to develop. Will doesn't open up about his family causing a rift with Skylar, he tells her that he was an orphan and that he was physically abused by his foster father. Skylar wants him to move to California with her but he doesn't agree and they break up. Sean tells Skylar that Will always flees when he sees that there might be emotional pain coming into a relationship. Will doesn't go to the job interviews Lambeau has set up for him. In the climax, Chuckie tells Will that he owes it to his friends to become something as not everyone is as gifted as him. Sean tells him that he should go to Skylar as Will does love her and take a leap of faith. In the end we see Will leaving for California going to find Skylar.
Sean acts as a symbol of hope in the movie.
