In a significant prelude to Ayodhya's Ram Temple consecration ceremony on January 22, the idol of Lord Ram was placed inside the temple's sanctum sanctorum. Covered with a veil, the first glimpse of the idol was revealed during a solemn placement ceremony, marking a crucial step in the temple's preparation for the upcoming 'Pran Pratistha' ceremony.
Renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj, hailing from Karnataka, meticulously crafted the 51-inch-tall, 1.5-tonne idol of 'Ram Lalla.' Capturing Lord Ram as a five-year-old standing on a lotus carved from the same stone, the idol's full unveiling is anticipated during the Pran Pratistha ceremony.
Scheduled for January 22, the Pran Pratishta ceremony will be conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with key rituals led by a team of priests, including Lakshmikant Dixit. The consecration is expected to commence at 12:20 pm and conclude by 1 pm.
Celebrity guests and dignitaries have been invited to witness the historic event, while Ayodhya is bedecked with vibrant flowers in preparation. The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation's beautification initiative along the Saryu River enhances the city's festive atmosphere, emphasizing the significance of the monumental occasion.
