Hair loss, also known as alopecia, is a common disorder affecting almost everyone. So how do you know if you’re shedding more than normal?
On average, most people lose about 100 strands of hair a day. And with new strands growing to take place of the ones lost, most won’t notice a difference. But if fewer or no strands grow back and you start noticing a receding hairline or thinning areas, then this is a problem.
Well, here are some tips which can helps ;
1 Maintain a balanced diet with nutrients like vitamins A, C, D, and E, as well as minerals like iron and zinc. These nutrients affect hair growth.
2 Avoid harsh hair treatments and excessive heat styling. Using heat to style your hair leaves your hair follicle dehydrated and vulnerable to damage. Hair dryers, hair straighteners and curling irons can all damage your hair. If you are concerned about hair loss, limit your use of dyes, highlights, peroxide treatments and perms.
3 Use a mild shampoo and conditioner suitable for your hair. Shampoo can potentially harm your hair and some other ingredients leads to frizz, scalp dryness and fragile hair. If you notice your hair is overly dry or frizzy, try a shampoo that’s as close to all natural as possible.
4 Don't use tight hairstyles because that can pull on the hair. Hair is flexible, but if you stretch them, they will be permanently damaged. Hairstyles like cornrows, tight braids and ponytails can pull your hair away from your scalp and loosen the bond between your hair and scalp over time.
5 Manage stress as it can contribute to hair fall. Stress pushes large numbers of hair follicles into a resting phase.
Remember - Hair is the crown you never take off, so invest in them.
