You didn't even get a small tukda for us
As soon as I entered the Matia Mahal lane of Jama Masjid, on the right side was a small shop named 'Haji Tea Stall', which is popularly known for it's Shahi Tukda and Tea.
After having conversation with Mohammad Shadab of Haji Tea Stall, he told me the shop opened back in 1965 and they have been selling Shahi Tukda since generation and it's their family speciality.
The owner/ founder of the shop, Haji Mohd. Hussain hailed from a small city of Rajasthan and used to sit in the footpath before the shop opened, and used to sell Chai and Shahi Tukda.
Only since the past 40-50 years has the Haji Tea Stall become extremely popular. Along with Shahi Tukda, and Tea, their Kheer is also people's favourite. Mohammad Shadab told me they serve two varieties of Chai (tea), and their tea is absolutely special, and is made up of pure milk and is very kadak (strong and rich in flavour)
On the other hand their Shahi Tukda is a delight to the sweet tooth of the people. Although, I didn't taste the Shahi Tukda but seeing the reactions of others it seemed appeasing.
The multilayered Shahi Tukda and Tea of Haji Tea Stall is a must have, especially during the days it's cold and gloomy.
Although the prices of the items in Haji Tea Stall are very cheap, but the tastes of the food items are not.
