Dwight Howard was not just a top 5 NBA player at one point, but he was also the league's best centre for several years. In 2011, Howard finished second in MVP voting and was deemed by team owners to be the most valuable player to create a franchise around. Dwight also won the Defensive Player of the Year title three years in a row, making him one of just four players to have won the honor three times or more, the other three being Rudy Gobert, Dikembe Mutombo and Ben Wallace, who both won it four times. Howard is also the only player to have won it in three consecutive seasons.
