Haryana's sqay players created history by winning 9 medals in the National Games
Haryana's sqay players created history by winning two gold, two silver and five bronze medals in the 37th National Games Haryana won 62 gold, 55 silver and 75 bronze medals in the 37th National Games in Goa and created history. Haryana players have won a total of 192 medals so far. As per the medal tally. Haryana stood in third position. Sqay players of Haryana in the 37th National Games won two gold, two silver and five bronze medals which is a matter of great pride and achievement for the state of Haryana A program was organized in Panchkula to honor all the medal winning players along with their coaches. Sqay Association of Haryana welcomed Mr Aman Boparai, the Chairman, as chief quest to honor the players and he congratulated the medal winners for their great achievement and bringing laurels to the state of Haryana. On this occasion Aman Boporal also took the opportunity of thanking the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for giving special encouragement and status to the indigenous games. Aman Boporal further said that the honourable Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has extended a great support for including many indigenous sports in the 37th National Games just concluded at Goa. It has provided a platform to the players of indigenous sports. Aman Boporai also praised the Honorable Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal Khattar and thanked the government of Haryana for extending unconditional support to the sportsmen of the state of Haryana.
A total of 16 players participated in the Sqay team, of which 12 were boys and 4 were girls. Among the players who won medals, Karan Sharma won the gold medal in the single event, In team event Ishika Goel, Mannat and Kashish won gold medals. In men's team, Karan Sharma, Amit Arya and Harsh Kalay received silver medals. Apart from this, Pratiksha Sharma won a silver medal in an individual event. Mannat and Ishika Goel got bronze medal, Amit Arya and Akshay Kumar got bronze medal and Hridyansh Malhotra won bronze medal in -66 kg weight category.
