The “al-Gharib” tree is known as “Al-Kolhama” and its scientific name is (Adansonia digitata). The “al-Gharib” tree is located in the Samsara region, 50 km from the city of Taiz in the State of Yemen. The “al-Gharib” tree is considered the largest and oldest tree in the Arabian Peninsula, and one of the rarest trees in the world. The “al-Gharib” tree is a wonder of time, unparalleled in the world. Its trunks branch out to cover an area of 10 square metres, in all directions.53 The “al-Gharib” tree bears only one fruit every year, it comes out one day and then disappears that night without knowing its fate.
