His Holiness the 14th DalaiLama visited Great Buddha Statue at Stok on 31st July 2023. The 22-meter-high Gautam Buddha is located 14 km southwest of Leh in Stok, Ladakh.

This is a Buddhist monastery founded in the 14th century. It was consecrated by His Holiness the 14th DalaiLama on 8 August 2016.

Monastery is notable for containing all 108 volumes of the Kangyur consisting of works supposed to have been spoken by the Buddha himself.

On 15th and 30th of every lunar month the Stok villagers gathers to pray for His Holiness’s and other great beings’ long life.
