Water scarcity is the biggest threat to humanity today which can lead to serious problems in future,
Wherever Football is the most-watched sport in the world and can frequently act as a catalyst for change, so the global game must do its part to protect the environment.
As being the global game, Football is the sport having an average audience of 16.7 million, So to spread awareness about the water scarcity and importance of saving water, Football can be the best platform.
But there is a water problem in football as well and how it can move the cause forward. It is estimated that a full-sized grass pitch requires up to 100,000 litres of water per day.
Might a synthetic pitch be the ideal remedy? I guess no, cause artificial turf emits environmentally hazardous heat and playing on artificial grounds can lead to major sports injuries.

The Qatar World Cup 2022 has showcased its efforts for environmental issues as they were the host of the first-ever carbon neutral competition.
