After finishing Runners-up at the 2018 World Cup, Croatia hopes to better their performance last time and claim victory this term. They’re making their fifth appearance at the Worl Cup finals in their history.
Croatia have been in decent form in the build-up to the World Cup. They topped their Nations League, beating France and Denmark in the process. At last summer's European Championships, Spain knocked them out in the semi-finals despite coming from two goals down to take the game to extra time.
Croatia are in the group of Belgium, Canada and Morroco. Fans and experts expect them to qualify from the group, with Belgium the likeliest to give them a headache. However, if Croatia fails to perform, they might find the group difficult and barely make it out.
Despite the departure of some of the players that finished second, Croatia have a team that can challenge deep into the competition. They will stick to the 4-3-3 formation to get the best result from the team. In goal, Dominik Livakovic is the preferred option to start. The shot-stopper has been the first choice for Croatia since Daniel Subasic.
