HOW TO DEAL WITH EXAM ANXIETY!
KNOW THAT GRADES ARE NOT EVERYTHING.
IM DEAD SERIOUS ABOUT THIS.
FOCUS ON THE WHERE!
Which study place gives you the least amount of stress? In a coffee shop with your laptop? Your desk at home?
In the library? At your friends or grandparents house?
REALISTIC AND ACHIEVABLE GOALS
Don't try to do too much at once, you will get overwhelmed.
Make a list of small goals you want to achieve per day, from most to least important.
Then work on them one by one, even if it's not done, at least you did SOMEthing
POSITIVE
REINFORCEMENT!
Reward yourself after every task done!
Put a small blue tick on your list for every completed assignment.
Have a well earned break. Resting is productive and prevents burnout!
PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION
Perfection is not attainable, and beating yourself up for not reaching it will make you even more anxious! Whenever you think of perfection, tell yourself that all you can do is try, and that progress is the way to go
CREATIVE STUDYING
Use the pomodoro technique where you study for 25 minutes, rest for 10, and repeat the process 4-5 times. Use writing or reading out loud so you can retain information better. Pretend like you are lecturing an audience! Have a study buddy if that helps.
PUT THINGS INTO PERSPECTIVE
Write down your negative thoughts about exams and read them back to yourself. Try to look at it from a different way.
'One bad grade will not ruin my life'
'This grade won't even matter in 10 years'
'Success is not measured by school performance'.
