Double cleansing is a skincare technique that involves two steps to thoroughly clean your face. The first step typically involves using an oil-based cleanser to remove makeup, sunscreen, and excess oils. The second step uses a water-based cleanser to remove any remaining impurities and to clean the skin itself.
Is it necessary? • Here's a good rule of thumb - If your skin is acne prone or you tend to get oily by noon, a double cleanse is helpful. If you're not oily until the end of the day or if your skin is dry, double cleansing probably isn't necessary unless you're wearing a lot of makeup.
How to double cleanse? • Easy! Follow my steps;
STEP 1 (OIL CLEANSE) APPLYING CLEANSING BALM OR OIL TO DRY SKIN.
STEP 2 MASSAGE OIL INTO SKIN. AS YOU EMULSIFY WITH WATER.
STEP 3 RINSE SKIN AND KEEP IT DAMP FOR NEXT STEP.
STEP 4 (WATER CLEANSE) APPLY WATER BASED OR CREAM CLEANSER & CONTINUE CLEANSING.
STEP 5 RINSE SKIN & PAT DRY, BUT KEEP DAMP. APPLY THE REST OF YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE.
