We would want to reach out and help those we know who are fighting their battles with depression. Now how to help in that? Let's find out.
Start up with a conversation
Let your loved one know that you're there for them no matter what. You can start the conversation by sharing your concerns and asking some specific questions.
Help them find support
Your friend might not be aware what they're dealing with or they may be even unsure how to reach out for help. Even if they know therapy can help them, it could be difficult to find a therapist and make an appointment, so for this you can be with them.
Help them through therapy
On a bad day, your friend might not want to even leave their house. Depression could take out all the energy they have at that time they tend to self isolate, so try to be around them.
Take care of yourself
When you look after for someone we tend to drop everything to be around them and to support them. It's not wrong to do so, but you need to also take care of yourself as well.
Learn about depression on your own
Learn more about depression also educate your other friends, so it becomes easier for the one who is in the condition. They wouldn't have the task of over explaining it to everyone.
