Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological and social well being. It affects how we think, feel and act as we cope with life. It also helps to determine on how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. Mental health is as important as physical health and it is essential at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood and aging, mental health is an important part of our life.
Staying positive: its important that we try to have a positive outlook which includes finding balance between positive and negative emotions. Staying positive doesn't mean that you never experience negative emotions like sadness or anger. You need to feel them so as to move on from difficult situations. They can help you to respond to a problem, but you wouldn't want those emotions to take over.
Practicing gratitude: it means being thankful for the good things in life. It's helpful to do this everyday and it can be done by either thinking about the things that you are grateful for or by writing it down in a journal.
Taking care of your physical health: as both physical and mental health are connected, some of the ways to take care of your physical health is by being physically active, by getting enough of sleep and more.
• Connecting with others: it's important to have strong, healthy relationships with others. Having a good social support can help you from stress. It is also good to have different kinds of connections as well.
• Developing coping skills, it is important, so it becomes useful for us especially during the time we experience stress. It will help us to face the problem, take action and be flexible and not give up easily.
