Step 1 - Thoroughly wash some fresh ginger. Peel and cut about a half-inch piece, then grate or chop it.
Step 2 - In a pan, pour some water and bring it to a boil. Add the chopped or grated ginger. Cover the pan and let it simmer for about 4-5 minutes.
Step 3 (Optional) - If you want, you can add some tea leaves, ground cinnamon, crushed black pepper, and any herbs like basil or mint.
Step 4 - When the ginger is infused in the water properly, its colour will turn slightly yellow.
Step 5 - Strain the tea and press down on ginger to extract all its juice. Add some lemon juice and stir.
