Hyun Bin and Star-Studded Cast Unite in "Harbin" as Independence Fighters
The highly anticipated film Harbin has unveiled a new set of character posters, spotlighting its star-studded cast as independence fighters. Set in 1909, Harbin is a spy thriller centered around a dangerous chase, with characters converging on the city of Harbin for a common cause, while others pursue them relentlessly.
Following the reveal of Hyun Bin’s poster as the iconic Ahn Jung Geun, the film’s latest posters highlight five additional independence fighters alongside a Japanese pursuer. These characters represent both sides of the historical conflict, each playing a key role in the story of Korea’s fight for freedom.
Among the newly introduced characters is Park Jung Min’s portrayal of Woo Deok Soon, described as a "dedicated independence fighter" who prioritizes his country over his personal safety. Jo Woo Jin joins him as Kim Sang Hyun, a fellow patriot who "risks his life alongside Woo Deok Soon" for the nation’s liberation. Jeon Yeo Been plays Gong Bu In, a courageous and "noble fighter based in Vladivostok," further strengthening the roster of resistance fighters.
Yoo Jae Myung takes on the role of Choi Jae Hyeong, a character who supports the independence fighters by providing "money and safe houses" during their mission. Lee Dong Wook’s character, Lee Chang Seop, is another independence fighter, but he is portrayed in "conflict with Ahn Jung Geun," creating tension within the group. Lastly, Park Hoon plays the antagonist, Japanese Army Lieutenant Colonel Mori Tatsuo, whose pursuit of the fighters represents a sharp contrast to the film’s heroes.
Filmed across Mongolia, Latvia, and South Korea, the actors are said to have committed to authentically depicting the "emotions of independence fighters" from over a century ago, bringing viewers back to the turbulent year of 1909. With such an impressive cast and gripping storyline, Harbin promises to be a stirring tribute to those who risked their lives for Korea’s independence.
