I am Kanika Vaswani and I am founder of WEN-

20 years of experience in HR and recruitments. Have managed large teams of recruitment. I started businesses from scratch for various verticals like Energy, Life Sciences, Automotive, Telecom, Media, Engineering & Manufacturing. Pioneered RPO in India and have done numerous projects around process excellence in recruiting.

But why this venture. Some years back due to some family problem I took a break from work. An elder member of the family wasn’t well and my son was giving his class 10 boards. Things got sorted and I wanted to get back to work .

However I realised I had become unemployable . From a sort after professional to someone who had to settle for a lesser job.

I just asked myself what had changed in last eight months and I realised it’s perception. People feel once a woman priorities family she can never give her 100 percent to work and that’s what I really wanted to change. This is when the idea of WEN was born . We wanted to facilitate work for women who wanted to restart their careers after sabbaticals .

Women mostly new mothers or those who move cities were given the option to work from home .

Women who have shifted to small towns due to marriage, spouse’s job relocations, etc. Women Entrepreneur Network is a tech enabled HR platform and a marketplace that helps women across India to get up skill and restart their careers.

Today we have around 200 people working with us and we are expanding .

Women can work from home, have flexibility of timing. When and how they work depends on them, the only requirement is job has to get done .
