I started playing lawn ball when I was 11 years old in 2007. Lawn bawl is not as famous as any other sports. In 2007 Gwahati hosted its 34th National games and in 2010 India hosted its Commonwealth games, till then lawn bawl was not very nationalized in India and in the Commonwealth games the planning was to introduces lawn bawl in 2007. Since lawn bawl was majorly a British sports and only the Calcutta people who belonged from the post society used to play this game and it was not open to the general public but in 2007 since the Indian Olympic decided to introduce lawn bawl, the first lawn ball court was set up in Gwahati and it was my dad who inspired me to give it a shot in lawn bawl since I was already involved with playing some sport or the other ever since my childhood in school. In 2007, I had the opportunity to witness the game for the first time and later on I took it up as a part of my career since I aced in lawn bawl, since I realized it was not a power game but rather something more about using my mental ability.
I won my first medal in women's single and by that time Calcutta already had a dominating position since they were already a pro in lawn bawl and later on right after Assam, it was Ranchi emerged as more of a successful position in terms of this particular sports. So I got the "first move of advantage" in the context of how lawn bawl was introduced as a game in Assam, so now when I look back in terms of a dominating state such as Calcutta, today it is Ranchi and Assam who have the emerging success and proud in lawn bawl.
