Ice Hockey is a game played between 2 teams of 6 players each, who wear skates and compete on a  ice rink.

This sport was thought to have been a derivation of field hockey, but research indicates that it's origin lies in the early 1800's in Nova Scotia, influenced by an Irish game of "hurling".
