Chelsea are keen to sign Napoli’s target man Victor Osimhen during the 2023 summer transfer window.
The Nigerian forward has had a stellar season leading the Serie A scoresheet with his 16 goals in 17 games and has captured the eyes of the Blues hierarchy who have identified him as their prime target in the summer to bolster their attack.
Since taken over Chelsea last year, the Todd Boehly-led team have radically overhauled the Chelsea’s squad in light of their boisterous spending spree last summer and in January shipping in 18 new signings in the space of two transfer window.
Chelsea have been inefficient in attack this season as they have only managed to score 20 goals in 21 games. Kai Havertz who has been their make shift striker and blew hot and cold this campaign which has hampered their progress in the league.
Thus, Chelsea have intensified their interest and effort to bring the 24-year-old Napoli striker Victor Osimehen to Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Although, it is understood that the Napoli President has expressed his loath at selling Osimehen, but should he maintain his impressive form, it is enough to convince Chelsea to trigger his €150m release clause, stirring off possible competition from the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Manchester City for the purpose of securing his signature as they did in the case of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.
