India Cope Humbling Defeat Against Zimbabwe in First T20I
Team India lost the first match of the ongoing T20I series against Zimbabwe by 13 runs last evening (as per Indian time). The team was being led by Shubman Gill, who was also making his captaincy debut.
Zimbabwe batted first on a difficult Harare surface and posted a low total of 115 runs on the board in 20 overs. Ravi Bishnoi picked up 4 wickets, while Washington Sundar struck twice. In reply, Indian batters struggled to find their footing. Captain Shubman Gill tried to hold the innings together with his 31-run innings. However, no other batter could get going. India eventually were bowled out for just 102 runs. Chatara and Sikandar Raza picked up 3 wickets apiece.
Sikandar Raza was adjudged the Man of the Match. India have a chance to make it 1-1 today, as they gear up for the second T20I.
