After making a derogatory remark about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has again made negative statements about the Indian cricket team following their loss in the World Cup 2023 final.
In a viral social media video, Razzaq, speaking about India's ODI World Cup final loss to Australia, remarks on a talk program that "it's great for cricket that India lost."🇮🇳
Razzaq in his bizarre remarks stated that India did not deserve to win the World Cup 2023 final because they doctored the pitches far too much.
"Indians were over-confident. Cricket won and India lost. Had India won the World Cup, it would have been a very sad moment for the game. They used conditions to their advantage and I have never seen such a bad pitch for any ICC final before. It's great for cricket that India lost," Razzaq said on the Pakistani TV show 'Hasna Mana Hai' when asked about Australia’s victory against India in the final.
Razzaq attempted to justify his argument by highlighting two quite different semi-finals. The first, between India and New Zealand, was a high-scoring affair at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, with nearly 700 runs scored, while the second knockouts took place barely a day later in Kolkata's Eden Gardens. The pitch utilized for the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, on the other hand, was completely different.
"Had India won, we would have felt very bad, because they were utilising the conditions, one semifinal they score 400, and the other team scores 350. In the other semifinal, 220-230 runs were scored. Then in the final 240 runs were scored. That means there is something wrong (with the conditions).
There should be fair pitches, fair atmosphere, both teams should have balance. Today also India took advantage. Had Kohli scored 100, then India would have won the World Cup," Razzaq added.
