India reported a single-day rise of 312 fresh COVID-19 cases while the active tally further mounted to 4,054 from 3,742 the previous day, the Health Ministry data showed on Monday.

Kerala saw one death in the past 24 hours, pushing the nationwide death toll to 5,33,334, the data updated at 8 am stated. Kerala, the state where the Covid sub-variant JN.1 was first detected, topped the state-wise chart of new cases 128 infections in a single day, the ministry stated. Other states, including Maharashtra (50), Karnataka (73), Delhi (7), Telangana (8) and Kerala (128).
