The G20 Summit has already begun, behind PM Modi is the replica of the wheel and sculptures of dancing women at the Konark Sun Temple in Odisha, where he has greeted world leaders and foreign delegates to the G20 Leaders' Summit at the Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition and Convention Centre in New Delhi on Saturday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted all the world leaders who has arrived in New Delhi for G20 Summit.
Along with G20 countries, under India’s G20 Presidency, nine countries — Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain and the United Arab Emirates — have been invited to be the “guest countries” in a year when the G-20 is struggling to strike a balance between the agenda of the western countries and that of the Global South.
The Konark wheel was built during the 13th century under the reign of King Narasimhadeva- I. The wheel with 24 spokes is also adapted into India's national flag embodies India's ancient wisdom, advanced civilisation, and architectural excellence.
The rotating motion of the Konark Wheel, symbolises time, Kalachakra as well as progress and continuous change. It serves as a powerful symbol of the wheel of democracy that reflects the resilience of democratic ideals, and commitment to progress in society.
