The upcoming Ram Navami celebration in Ayodhya is expected to be extraordinary, especially with the inauguration of the Ram Temple and the anticipation of millions of devotees.
The atmosphere in Ayodhya is brimming with excitement and devotion as preparations for the festival are in full swing.
To accommodate the large influx of pilgrims expected during Ram Navami, the Indian Railways has announced special trains to Ayodhya. The festival, which will be celebrated from April 9 to 17, is anticipated to attract around 5 million devotees, making it a massive gathering.
On regular days, approximately 200,000 devotees visit the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. However, during special occasions like Ram Navami, this number can skyrocket to as high as 700,000. Both the temple administration and the state government are making meticulous preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities.
According to DRM Sachindra Mohan Sharma of Northern Railway Lucknow Division, the Indian Railways is closely monitoring the list of trains to Ayodhya. Additional trains or coaches will be added if the existing ones are fully booked to facilitate the journey of devotees. It is estimated that around 2 million devotees will reach Ayodhya during Ram Navami.
Earlier, the Ayodhya Dham station used to cater to around four thousand passengers, but now, the number has increased to 18,000. To manage the expected crowd, the waiting areas and passenger facilities will be closely monitored.
The special trains from Lucknow to Ayodhya will operate at a speed of 130 km/h, ensuring swift transportation for pilgrims. Thanks to the completion of the double line and electrification work on the Lucknow-Ayodhya route, the travel time will be significantly reduced. Trains will now cover the 130-kilometer distance in just 30 to 45 minutes, providing a more convenient travel experience for passengers.
Overall, the announcement of special trains by the Indian Railways comes as a relief for devotees planning to visit Ayodhya during Ram Navami. With improved transportation facilities and meticulous planning, pilgrims can look forward to a hassle-free and fulfilling spiritual journey to the sacred city of Ayodhya.
