Umran Malik was a tad expensive in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday, April 2 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The pacer leaked 32 runs off three overs and skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not trust him to complete his quota.
But as far as pace is concerned, Umran was right up there and he showed why he is deemed as one of the fastest bowlers around the globe. Devdutt Padikkal had to bear the brunt of Umran’s pace in Match No.4 of the IPL.
In the first ball of the 15th over, Umran ran from around the wicket and targeted Padikkal’s stumps. The Jammu and Kashmir pacer bowled at 149 km/h and Padikkal had absolutely no idea about how to face the delivery.

Padikkal was beaten all ends up and the ball crashed onto the stumps. Umran has hurried a lot of batters with his pace and he didn’t disappoint this time around. The pacer, however, was among the three SRH bowlers to leak runs at an economy in excess of 10.
Sunrisers concede 203
After being put in to bat first, the Royals raced to a score of 203 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Jos Buttler got them off to a flying start with a half-century off 20 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson scored 54 and 55 respectively. Padikkal and Riyan Parag were the only batters who failed to get into double digits.
Shimron Hetmyer threw his bat around in the death overs to score 22 runs off 16 balls with one four and a six. T Natarajan, who has had his fair share of bouts over the last 12 months, was the standout bowler for SRH after he finished with figures of 3-0-23-3.
