British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden are currently traversing Europe and filling in the arenas and stadiums across the continent under the banner of their ‘The Future Past Tour’.
The tour's setlist has Maiden fans ecstatic as the band will be revisiting some of the deep cuts/underground tracks from their classic 1986 studio album “Somewhere in Time”. The deep cut that made headlines was the band playing their eight-minute epic track ‘Alexander The Great’, which they played live for the first time.
Speaking to Metal Hammer, the band’s bassist, founding member and bass master Steve Harris opened up on the list of deep cuts or the lesser known tracks of the band that they’d like to play live.
He said "There are a few tracks that would be nice to dig out once in a while, I suppose. I think 'Only The Good Die Young' is a really nice song that would be nice to play.” (Only The Good Die Young is a track of their iconic 1989 album ‘Seventh Son of a Seventh Son)
"We did play it a couple of times. It would be nice to play that, maybe. It's a bit more, of one of those obscure songs. But it's just…what do you drop out?! That's the problem. So many songs, so many albums."
Regarding how the band chose their setlist, Harris laid out his thoughts bluntly "This might be blunt and brutal, but we don't do it for the audience. We do it for our own thing first.”
“We've gotta feel comfortable with what we're playing and enjoy it, and then hopefully they'll like it. That's always been our stance all the way through. We don't do a census of, 'Oh does everyone like this or like that?', or whatever. We don't do that."
The group is always known for doing what they want and they sure as hell do it better than pretty much anyone else. Up the Irons!🤘🤘
