It's Trump Birthday and he's not having the best of his 77th, as yesterday the former US President Donald Trump arraigned at the Federal Court in Miami.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to 37 felony counts accusing him of hishandling sensitive government documents and interfering in the Justice Department's investigation, marking this as his second indictment since he announced his 2024 run for the US Presidential Candidate.
This is also the first time in the history of US that a former President faces federal charges.
AFP reported that Donald Trump referred to the indictment against him for mishandling classified information as a "severe abuse of power" during a speech to his supporters.
After pleading not guilty to numerous felony charges, Trump expressed his disappointment, stating, "Today we witnessed the most evil and heinous abuse of power in the history of our country. Very sad thing to watch."
The Former President had repeatedly claimed he is innocent and has accused Biden administration of targeting him.
He also accused Joe Biden of weaponising law enforcement agencies against him.
As per the US government authorities Trump schemed and lied to block the government from recovering the documents concerning nuclear programs and other sensitive military secrets stored at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
It's the second criminal case Trump is facing as he seeks to reclaim the White House in 2024. He's also accused in New York state court of falsifying business records related to hush-money payments made during the 2016 campaign.
And he denies wrongdoings in both the cases.
Trump arrived to federal courthouse to surrender to authorities ahead of a historic appearance on charges that he illegally hoarded classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
Four black SUVS entered the garage beneath the Miami courthouse, followed by police officers, ahead of his scheduled 3 p.m. appearance. Security remained tight outside the building but there were no signs of significant disruptions.
