As someone who has followed her, the book, My Life in Full by Ms. Nooyi did not give me any surprises. Women leaders in Business- Indra Nooyi was one name which always came up –Thanks to the internet & wide amount of coverage of her in different platforms.
2018 when we had to make a presentation at IIMA , about a leader , IKN was the first person we could think of – Thanks to the boys in our team Abhinandan, Arun, Saurabh, Suvendu , they went along with Arjuni’s and my choice.
Though it was a presentation on the leadership traits of IKN , where the 5C’s were the most famous and prominent , we dug into whatever possible we could find about her .
Could relate to many things personally as well – The door to door sales she did while in Mettur Beardshell reminded me of my Idea Cellular days when we learned business by doing prepaid, postpaid, VAS sales etc.
Love for cricket – ha –from my kindergarten days where I used to be a regular visitor to the neighborhood ground wearing a knee length frock, where my brother and friends played. If the cricket ball went off the field, I was the person to bring it back. And occasionally I get lucky (of course, after several rounds of nagging) when am allowed to bat (with a bat equal to my height) and the ball disappears somewhere!Thanks to all those elder brothers of mine, who used to shower so much of love and affection always at this sole little girl in the ground!

Yea- A strong personality, career woman, humble background, powerful woman, woman who broke the glass ceiling and many more is what IKN is !While scribbling notes after reading ,I realized something suddenly !!
India has dropped from 112 in 2020 to 140 in the Global Gender Gap index 2021
Also, share of women in professional & technical roles declined 29.2%. The gender gap in India has widened to 62.5%.
How many more years to go, to bridge the gap??
