The ball is in Dortmund’s court so a deal to Liverpool may happen if Bellingham’s club and the 19-year-old see fit.

Strengthening beyond Bellingham will also be imperative to Liverpool’s return to greatness with multiple midfield reinforcements and a young centre-back also required, so the cash for Bellingham, in my opinion, has better uses.

Liverpool are, without a doubt, a fitting club for the Birmingham graduate. But with the fierce competition, the monetary complications and the dire need for multiple acquisitions, Liverpool’s time and resource could be better off spent elsewhere.
