I have heard that being with your close ones makes you feel free

all the things you do, close to your heart 

they liberate you 

but what if all those things that once made you happy 

the things that you fought for; 

the allegiance suffocating you 

when they no longer enchant you 

and you wonder 

where did it all go wrong 

as for you 

you no longer feel the blood gushing into your veins

your heartbeat doesn't rise as it used to 

at their slightest glance 

you now don't wake up every morning 

for the work that kindled you 

brimming you with alacrity 

when your life is not about living anymore 

rather you are existing 

with a bogus purpose 

what do you do then

to bring back the lost self
