Following the tragic, disturbing attack by Hezbollah on a soccer field that claimed the lives of 12 innocent children playing soccer, Israel struck back, striking a massive blow to the terrorist organization, killing Hezbollah’s most senior military commander, Fu’ad Shukr.
The killing of Shukr wasn’t just a win for Israel – though the world is obviously better off without this terrorist – but it was also a win for the United States. In 1983, Shukr became wanted by the U.S. following an attack on a Marine Corp barrack in Beirut that claimed the lives of 241 U.S. service members. In 2019, the U.S. State Department offered an award of $5 million for information leading to his capture.
