Reimagining the Republic comes on the major premise that the historical trajectory of the republic has certainly not been in sync with how it was imagined and by what method our forefathers went ahead through creating supposedly robust framework to make the Indian Republic an inclusive entity. This was done in spite of the traumatic experience of partition and disturbing turbulence in the neighborhood. In order to reimagine as well as reconfigure the republic and its fundamental principles, we need to quickly look at the foundational values values of the republic. Before we take up issues like equality and justice, let us have the courage to evaluate our performance on the indices of liberty, equality and freedom. It doesn't shock many anymore that on all those indices on an average we occupy our position in one-fourth from the bottom.
