What's the point of India and Pakistan playing Cricket against each other, when it's been so years of Independence but the tension and enmity doesn't seem to be ending.

There is unnecessary tension across borders of both the nations, and also among the audiences on the cricket ground. At times it feels like if given an opportunity audience from both sides might just hit each other.

If there is so much tension, why to even play against each other?

Both the teams have made a niche for themselves in the game of Cricket, they can play their individual games not getting involved with each other, and avoid the tension, which is very unnecessary.
