It was my grandfather's 82nd birthday, and i decided to surprise him by making a chocolate cake. I hardly took 1 hour and the cake was ready, i decorated it with chocolate syrup and some sprinkled chocolate.
The recipe to this cake is:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well to combine all the dry ingredients.
Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat the mixture on medium speed using an electric mixer for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth and well combined.
Reduce the mixer speed to low and slowly add the boiling water to the batter. Mix until the water is fully incorporated. The batter will be thin, but that's okay.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Tap the pan gently on the countertop to remove any air bubbles.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely.
