In the quarterfinal at Al Bayt Stadium, France defeated England in a thrilling 2-1 victory to advance to the semifinal of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022. In the 2022 World Cup's second semifinal, France will take against Morocco.

As per news reports, after 17 minutes, Aurelien Tchouameni gave France the lead with a long-range goal, but England's captain Harry Kane tied the score with a penalty kick in the 54th minute after the French midfielder fouled Bukayo Saka.

Six minutes before the end of the game, Giroud headed in the game-winning goal off of a cross from Antoine Griezmann, ending England's hopes of tying the score once more.

Earlier, Harry Kane tied Wayne Rooney for the most goals scored by England with 53 after scoring a penalty against France in the World Cup quarterfinal on Saturday. Kane, 29, who had six goals in Russia four years prior, scored his second goal of the competition.
