Well, it’s official. The Jack Smith classified documents case against Trump is being put to a stop — for now.
Recently, a motion was filed by Smith to put the case in an indefinite halt, stopping short of dropping it altogether.
This comes as the DOJ has a standing policy not to prosecute a sitting president, since it is the belief of the DOJ that such a prosecution would be unconstitutional.
Of course, this won’t en the end of trumps legal woes, as he is still facing his election interference in Georgia, and his slew of other cases in New York. Not too long ago, the sentencing in Trump’s business records case in New York was put to a halt.
Trump vowed to fire Jack Smith the second he gets into office, and he may just do that; finally ridding himself of at least a few cases while he continues to fight back against his others.
