Japan is planning to boost financial support for families to move away from the capital in order to combat deportation in other areas of the country.
Eligible families in the Tokyo metropolitan area will be able to receive 1 million yen($7700)per child starting in the fiscal year 2023 if they move to a disadvantaged local area.
The incentives show that Japan is facing with its low birth rate and long life expectancy. Rural areas have seen rapid deportation as the young move away from their homes for opportunities in cities, leaving the localities with empty homes.
Under the new proposal, a home with two children could receive 3 million yen in support if they leave Tokyo area.
Japanese government started the initiative to attract people to regional areas in 2019. Families can continue to work remotely at their current job which would allow them to apply for even more financial support.
Don't you think India's metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, are also overcrowded. How can we deal with this problem? If you have any suggestions please comment.
