Very nice 👍
I am continuing with my experience in India and my tryst with Bharatanatyam in this post.
In short, India is a huge country, diverse and buzzing. Learning too is a continuous process.
I continue to learn from this ancient civilization and its rich and varied tradition. I have been to India 20 times so far. Each visit more of an education and learning.
I have started a dance school in Japan-- Studio Prachee スタジオプラーチー 公式サイト |インド舞踊・ヨガ・カラリパヤットゥ| 大阪府藤井寺市&オンラインスタジオ (studioprachee.com)
Our mission at the Centre is to make everyone feel healthy and happy through the classical dance Bharatanatyam, which I continue to learn from my guru Padmabhushan awardee C V Chandrasekhar in Chennai and then through yoga, meditation, and Kalarippayattu.
My guru C V Chandrasekhar named it Studio Parchee. In Sanskrit Prachee means East direction. And Japan for India is an Easten country (East Asian country to be more specific).
There is another reason why my guru suggested “Prachee.” My name, Yoko, means, sun’s child. Japan is known as the land of rising sun, and sun rises it in the east.
My guru treated me as daughter and a disciple at the same time. He always took time to inculcate the values and traditions of the oriental culture. Culture is a continuum.
And I continue my mission of keeping the lamp of Indian culture lit in Japan. Let it shine more, longer and for ever ! See you all with another post soon.
