The INLD, once dominant in Haryana politics, has struggled since the 2014 elections, where it emerged as the principal opposition party with 19 legislators. In contrast, the current results leave the party with just one remaining legislator, Abhay Chautala.
The Bhajan Lal family suffered a notable defeat in Hisar's Adampur seat, long regarded as their stronghold. Bhavya Bishnoi, grandson of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, lost to Congress candidate Chander Prakash by a narrow margin of 1,268 votes. Bhavya’s uncle, Chander Mohan, secured a win in the Panchkula constituency against BJP MLA Gian Chand Gupta.
In the Tosham assembly seat, two grandchildren of Bansi Lal faced off, with BJP's Shruti Choudhry defeating her cousin Anirudh Chaudhry. Shruti is the daughter of BJP leader Kiran Choudhry and Bansi Lal's son, Surender Singh.
In Sirsa, Devi Lal's grandson, Abhay Singh Chautala, lost the Ellenabad seat, while his other grandson, Aditya, won from Dabwali after recently switching from BJP to INLD. Digvijaya Singh Chautala, JJP’s great-grandson, also faced defeat.
In the Rania constituency, Ranjit Singh Chautala, former minister and Devi Lal's son, lost as an independent candidate after leaving the BJP.
The Ucchan Kalan seat was narrowly won by BJP's Devender Attri, defeating Congress rival Brijendra Singh by just 32 votes. Other notable victories included Aarti Rao, daughter of BJP leader Rao Inderjit Singh, from Mahendragarh's Ateli, and Aditya Surjewala, son of senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala, who won in Kaithal.
Overall, the BJP secured 48 seats in the Haryana assembly, while the Congress won 37.
