Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic fight should not have 'heavyweight belt', says Demetrious Johnson
Yarkbarker
The upcoming Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic legacy fight has been the talk of the town in the MMA community. The 'GOAT' vs. consensus UFC heavyweight GOAT remains an exciting prospect. However, the fight has attracted a massive wave of criticism due to the old age of Miocic. UFC flyweight GOAT Demetrious Johnson also has a similar view.
As the heavyweight champion, fans want Jon Jones to defend his title against the interim champion. However, Jones believes his fight with Miocic is more significant than fighting Tom Aspinall. Demetrious Johnson recently shared his views on the fight and proposed that Miocic and Jones could still fight without putting the heavyweight title on the line.
DJ predicted that an 'old and inactive' Stipe Miocic wouldn't be able to go against Jones in the fight. Johnson mentioned that he would love to see Jones fighting a young and hungry Tom Aspinall, and that's exactly what a lot of fans want as well. However, 'Bones' and Dana White believe Miocic vs. Jones is the right fight to make.
Aspinall, on the other hand, is trying his best to get the title shot and has accused Jones of ducking him. Jones believes that he has done enough professionally to be called the GOAT and would like to retire on his terms. Jones has participated in 16 title fights and never lost once. However, there was one achievement that the fighter missed out on.
